LCO No. 5932 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 677 January Session, 2019 LCO No. 5932 Referred to Committee on ENERGY AND TECHNOLOGY Introduced by: (ET) AN ACT CONCERNING TH E DELIVERY FORMAT OF C OMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAMMING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Each community antenna 1 television company and certified competitive video service provider, 2 as those terms are defined in section 16-1 of the general statutes, 3 operating in the state shall deliver to each of its subscribers any 4 community access programming in the same format as the primary 5 local broadcast signals each such subscriber receives, including, but 6 not limited to, high definition format, provided (1) such community 7 access programming is delivered to a community antenna television 8 company or certified competitive video service provider in such 9 format, and (2) this section shall not require a community antenna 10 television company or certified competitive video service provider to 11 upgrade the equipment of any community access programming 12 provider. 13 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Committee Bill No. 677 LCO No. 5932 2 of 2 Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To require community antenna television companies and certified competitive video service providers to deliver community access programming in the same format as a subscriber receives primary local broadcast signals.
