AN ACT EXPANDING MED ICAID COVERAGE FOR CHILDREN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 17b-292 of the general statutes is 1
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 2
1, 2019): 3
(a) A child who resides in a household with household income 4
which exceeds one hundred ninety-six per cent of the federal poverty 5
level and does not exceed three hundred eighteen per cent of the 6
federal poverty level [may] shall be eligible for benefits under HUSKY 7
B regardless of the child's immigration status. 8
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To expand Medicaid coverage for children regardless of immigration
status.
