AN ACT CONCERNING PA RTICIPATION BY A RESIDENT OF A
NURSING HOME FACILIT Y OR RESIDENTIAL CARE HOM E IN A
RECEIVERSHIP PROCEED ING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 19a-542 of the general statutes is 1
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 2
1, 2019): 3
(b) A resident of a nursing home facility or residential care home for 4
which an application to appoint a receiver has been filed or such 5
resident's legally liable relative, conservator or guardian may appear 6
as a party to the proceedings. The court shall permit a resident of a 7
nursing home facility or residential care home that is the subject of an 8
application for receivership, or the resident's legally liable relative, 9
conservator or guardian, to be heard at the hearing on the application 10
for receivership without having to file an appearance as a party. 11
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
