Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) (a) No employer is required 1 to make accommodations for an employee or allow an employee to (1) 2 perform his or her duties while under the influence of a cannabis-type 3 substance, as defined in section 21a-240 of the general statutes, or (2) 4 possess, smoke or otherwise consume a cannabis-type substance while 5 performing such duties. 6 (b) For purposes of this section, "employer" and "employee" mean 7 employer and employee, each as defined in section 31-40q of the 8 general statutes. 9 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 July 1, 2019 New section LCO No. 5956 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To provide that no employer is required to make accommodations for or allow employees to use or possess cannabis in the workplace.
