AN ACT CONCERNING GO VERNMENT ADMINISTRAT ION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 2-35a of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2
The joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 3
cognizance of matters relating to government administration, 4
organization and reorganization shall be charged with the duty and 5
responsibility of overseeing all government organization and 6
reorganization and in particular any transfer, allocation or 7
consolidation of any state department or agency. The committee shall 8
[have responsibility] be responsible for continuing review of the 9
organization and reorganization of state departments and agencies and 10
may from time to time make recommendations to the General 11
Assembly with regard to government organization and reorganization. 12
Sec. 2. Section 4-38j of the general statutes is repealed and the 13
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 14 Raised Bill No. 1094

The Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and each 15
department head, as defined [by] in section 4-5, shall (1) submit to the 16
joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance 17
of matters relating to government administration, organization and 18
reorganization upon request (A) a report [upon request,] on the 19
progress and implementation of reorganization, and [upon request 20
shall also furnish to the committee] (B) any information concerning 21
reorganization, or (2) appear before the committee to provide such 22
information as may be determined by the chairpersons of said 23
committee. 24
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
