AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN PARCELS
OF STATE LAND IN THE TOWN OF CHESHIRE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision 1
of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Transportation shall 2
convey to the town of Cheshire three parcels of land located in the 3
town of Cheshire at a cost equal to the administrative costs of making 4
such conveyance. The first parcel of land has an area of approximately 5
3.59 acres and is identified as Lot 31 on town of Cheshire Tax 6
Assessor's Map 4. The second parcel of land has an area of 7
approximately 0.88 acre and is identified as Lot 32 on town of Cheshire 8
Tax Assessor's Map 4. The third parcel of land has an area of 9
approximately 43.6 acres and is identified as Lot 33 on town of 10
Cheshire Tax Assessor's Map 4. The conveyance of said parcels shall be 11
subject to the approval of the State Properties Review Board. 12
(b) The town of Cheshire shall use said parcels of land for economic 13
development purposes. If the town of Cheshire: 14 Raised Bill No. 1123

(1) Does not use said parcels for said purposes; 15
(2) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcels; or 16
(3) Leases all or any portion of said parcels, 17
the parcels shall revert to the state of Connecticut. 18
(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of 19
the conveyance of said parcels of land not later than thirty days after it 20
receives a proposed agreement from the Department of 21
Transportation. The land shall remain under the care and control of 22
said department until a conveyance is made in accordance with the 23
provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver 24
any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section, 25
which deed or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the 26
purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The Commissioner of 27
Transportation shall have the sole responsibility for all other incidents 28
of such conveyance. 29
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
