ARESIMOWICZ, 30 th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF CERT AIN PARCELS OF STATE LAND IN THE TOWN OF CHESHIRE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision 1 of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Transportation shall 2 convey to the town of Cheshire three parcels of land located in the 3 town of Cheshire at a cost equal to the administrative costs of making 4 such conveyance. The first parcel of land has an area of approximately 5 3.59 acres and is identified as Lot 31 on town of Cheshire Tax 6 Assessor's Map 4. The second parcel of land has an area of 7 approximately 0.88 acre and is identified as Lot 32 on town of Cheshire 8 Tax Assessor's Map 4. The third parcel of land has an area of 9 approximately 43.6 acres and is identified as Lot 33 on town of 10 Cheshire Tax Assessor's Map 4. The precise size and area of said 11 parcels to be conveyed shall be determined by the commissioner. The 12 conveyance of said parcels shall be subject to the approval of the State 13 Properties Review Board. 14 Bill No. LCO No. 11150 2 of 2 (b) The town of Cheshire shall sell said parcels of land for economic 15 development purposes. If the town does not sell said parcels for 16 economic development purposes within five years after the 17 conveyance, the parcels shall revert to the state of Connecticut. Any 18 sale of said parcels shall be made at a cost equal to the fair market 19 value of said parcels, as determined by the average of the appraisals of 20 two independent appraisers selected by the commissioner. Such 21 appraisals shall be completed not later than six months after such 22 conveyance and shall be updated as necessary. Any funds received by 23 the town of Cheshire from a sale in accordance with this subsection 24 shall be transferred to the State Treasurer for deposit in the Special 25 Transportation Fund. 26 (c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of 27 the conveyance of said parcels of land not later than thirty days after it 28 receives a proposed agreement from the Department of 29 Transportation. The land shall remain under the care and control of 30 said department until a conveyance is made in accordance with the 31 provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver 32 any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section, 33 which deed or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the 34 purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The commissioner shall have 35 the sole responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance. 36 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section
