AN ACT CONCERNING TH E MAILING OF INFORMATION 
REGARDING VETERANS' BENEFITS AND SUICIDE PREVENTION TO 
CERTAIN VETERANS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2020) The Commissioner of 1 
Veterans Affairs shall mail to any veteran, as defined in section 27-103 2 
of the general statutes, who received a medal pursuant to section 27-73e 3 
of the general statutes, information concerning (1) available federal and 4 
state veterans' benefits and the eligibility requirements for such benefits, 5 
and (2) suicide prevention. 6 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections: 
 
Section 1 October 1, 2020 New section 
 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs to mail to certain 
veterans information concerning veterans' benefits and suicide
