AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF FUNDS IN THE CONNECTICUT LAKES, RIVERS AND PONDS PRESERVATION ACCOUNT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 14-21aa of the general statutes be amended to: (1) Define 1 "aquatic invasive species" using criteria established by the Connecticut 2 Agricultural Experiment Station, (2) divide any funds deposited into the 3 Connecticut Lakes, Rivers and Ponds Preservation account equally at 4 fifty per cent between lakes, rivers and ponds, and (3) establish funding 5 priorities in the following order: (A) State-owned bodies of water, (B) 6 state-operated boat launches, and (C) largest to smallest bodies of water, 7 based on acreage. 8 Statement of Purpose: To establish clear requirements for priority funding to combat aquatic invasive species within Connecticut lakes, rivers and ponds.
