AN ACT CONCERNING THE ISSUANCE OF DEBIT CARDS TO
INCARCERATED PERSONS BEING RELEASED INTO THE
COMMUNITY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 18 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the 1
Department of Correction issue a debit card to an incarcerated person 2
upon release into the community for purposes of accessing his or her 3
funds rather than issuing a check to such person. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To allow a formerly incarcerated person easier access to his or her funds
upon release into the community.
