PETIT, 22nd Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE ADMINISTRATION OF VACCINES BY MEDICAL ASSISTANTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to allow a medical assistant to 1 administer vaccines in any setting other than a hospital, provided the 2 medical assistant (1) meets certain certification, education and training 3 requirements, and (2) is acting under the direct supervision, control and 4 responsibility of a licensed physician or advanced practice registered 5 nurse. 6 Statement of Purpose: To allow medical assistants, under certain conditions, to administer vaccines.
