CARPINO, 32nd Dist. SEN. SAMPSON, 16th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF TEMPORARY IMMUNITY FROM LIABILITY TO ENTITIES THAT HAVE SAFELY OPERATED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 925 of the general statutes be amended to provide 1 temporary immunity from civil liability to businesses, nonprofit 2 organizations, universities, the state and any of its political subdivisions 3 who, on or after March 10, 2020, acted in substantial compliance with 4 public health guidelines for any loss, damage, injury or death arising 5 from exposure to or transmission of COVID-19 or any mutation thereof, 6 except in instances of gross negligence or wilful misconduct. 7 Statement of Purpose: To protect businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, the state and its political subdivisions that have safely reopened from civil liability resulting from one's exposure to COVID-19.
