AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL TAXATION ASSISTANCE
PROGRAMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to authorize any municipality 1
to enact a program to defer payment, institute installment payment 2
plans, and lower interest rates and late fees on taxes, rates, charges and 3
assessments levied by such municipality or collected by such 4
municipality on behalf of a quasi-municipal corporation. Such 5
authorization shall apply, but need not be limited to, taxes, rates, 6
charges and assessments on real property, personal property and motor 7
vehicles and water, sewer and electricity use. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize municipalities to enact programs to defer payment,
institute installment payment plans, and lower interest rates and late
fees on taxes, rates, charges and assessments levied by such
municipality or collected by such municipality on behalf of a quasi-
municipal corporation.
