AN ACT CONCERNING REVISIONS TO THE STATE -WIDE POLICY
FOR PURSUITS BY POLICE OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 14-283a of the general statutes be 1
amended to require the state-wide policy for handling pursuits by 2
police officers specify that a police officer may engage in a pursuit when 3
the driver of the fleeing vehicle is suspected of a crime against property, 4
including theft of a motor vehicle. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To allow police officers to more effectively apprehend a person
suspected of stealing a motor vehicle.
