AN ACT CONCERNING THE FILING OF A CIVIL ACTION RESULTING
FROM A MALICIOUS CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 52-577 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
a civil action based on a malicious prosecution may be brought within 2
three years following the date of the favorable termination of the 3
criminal prosecution. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To create a limited exception in the statute of limitations for the filing of
a civil action that is based upon a malicious criminal prosecution.
