AN ACT CONCERNING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE FIRST DEGREE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 53a-70 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
a person is guilty of sexual assault in the first degree when such person 2
compels another person to submit to, rather than engage in sexual 3
intercourse by the use of force against such other person or a third 4
person. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To clarify that a victim of sexual assault in the first degree is compelled
to submit to, rather than engage in sexual intercourse by the use of force.
