AN ACT CONCERNING THE QUALIFYING INCOME THRESHOLDS 
FOR THE PERSONAL INCOME TAX DEDUCTION FOR PENSION OR 
ANNUITY INCOME. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 12-701 of the general statutes be amended to establish, 1 
for the personal income tax deduction of pension or annuity income 2 
under subparagraph (B)(xxi) of subdivision (2) of subsection (a) of said 3 
section, additional qualifying income threshold tiers (1) between 4 
seventy-five thousand dollars to less than one hundred thousand 5 
dollars in adjusted gross income for an unmarried individual, a married 6 
individual filing separately or a head of household, and (2) between one 7 
hundred thousand dollars to less than one hundred twenty-five 8 
thousand dollars in adjusted gross income for married individuals filing 9 
jointly. The deduction allowed under each such additional threshold tier 10 
shall be a decreasing percentage, as adjusted gross income increases, of 11 
the percentage allowed under said subparagraph for the applicable 12

Statement of Purpose:   
To establish additional qualifying income threshold tiers and deduction 
percentages for the personal income tax deduction for pension or 
annuity income.
