AN ACT REQUIRING MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATORS TO SECURE ANIMALS IN MOTOR VEHICLES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 248 of the general statutes be amended to require a 1 person operating a motor vehicle on a public highway to restrain an 2 animal in such motor vehicle in such a manner to prevent the animal 3 from sitting on the lap of or otherwise distracting such person. 4 Statement of Purpose: To encourage safe driving and protect both the driver and animal by requiring the driver to restrain an animal in the motor vehicle.
