AN ACT CONCERNING YEARS OF SERVICE WHEN CALCULATING
RETIREMENT INCOME FOR STATE LEGISLATORS WHO MOVE TO
OTHER POSITIONS IN STATE SERVICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 2 of the general statutes be amended to adjust the 1
calculation of years of service when determining retirement income for 2
legislators who move into another position in state service following 3
their time in the legislature. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent unfunded pension liabilities by changing how years of
legislative service are calculated for legislators who move to other
employment with the state.
