AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING AND OVERSIGHT OF
FATHERHOOD INITIATIVES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That (1) three million dollars be appropriated from the General Fund 1
to the Department of Social Services, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2
2022, to provide increased funding for fatherhood initiatives that 3
promote the positive involvement of fathers in their children's lives, and 4
(2) an advisory group be established to study and make 5
recommendations concerning (A) integrating such initiatives with early 6
childhood programs funded by the Office of Early Childhood, and (B) 7
transferring oversight of such initiatives to the Office of Early Education 8
or the Department of Education. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To restore funding cut from fatherhood initiatives and study the efficacy
of transferring oversight of such initiatives from the Department of
Social Services to the Office of Early Childhood or the Department of
Education.
