AN ACT ELIMINATING IMMUNITY FOR NURSING HOMES AND
OTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS FOR NEGLIGENCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to eliminate immunity from 1
negligence actions for nursing homes and other health care providers 2
imposed by executive order during the COVID-19 pandemic and to 3
establish a prospective cause of action for negligence of such providers. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure long-term care residents and others treated by health care
providers have protection and opportunity for redress when the
providers are negligent in providing care.
