The amendment results in a cost to the Department of Social Services (DSS) associated with establishing Medicaid coverage for community violence prevention services for certain Medicaid beneficiaries, to the extent allowed under federal law. The cost is dependent on the utilization of such services by eligible individuals and the associated rate established. The amendment specifies these provisions only be implemented if federal matching funds are available. The amendment requires DSS to begin coverage no later than July 1, 2022.
