AN ACT ADJUSTING LEGISLATIVE COMPENSATION FOR INFLATION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 2-8 of the general statutes be amended to increase 1 compensation of members of the General Assembly to (1) six thousand 2 five hundred seventy dollars for representatives and eight thousand 3 thirty dollars for senators, (2) fifty-six thousand four hundred eighty-4 five dollars for the speaker of the House of Representatives and the 5 president pro tempore of the Senate, (3) fifty-three thousand seven 6 hundred eighty dollars for the majority and minority leaders of each 7 chamber, (4) fifty thousand two hundred ninety-one dollars for the 8 deputy majority and minority leaders of each chamber, (5) forty-seven 9 thousand seventy-two dollars for the assistant majority and minority 10 leaders and majority and minority whips of each chamber and the 11 chairpersons of each joint standing committee, (6) forty-four thousand 12 three hundred eighty dollars for the ranking members of each joint 13 standing committee, and (7) eight thousand thirty dollars for expenses 14 if a senator and six thousand five hundred seventy dollars for expenses 15 Proposed Bill No. 5745 LCO No. 1852 2 of 2 if a representative. 16 Statement of Purpose: To adjust legislative compensation for inflation.
