AN ACT CONCERNING THE BUDGETS OF LOCAL BOARDS OF
EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) require local boards of 1
education to file a copy of the end of year school report required 2
pursuant to section 10-227 of the general statutes with the town clerk in 3
the municipality where the board of education is located, provided all 4
special education expenses and information identifying individual 5
students shall be redacted from such report and any revisions, and (2) 6
permit a town board of finance to increase, decrease or eliminate any 7
noneducational expense set forth in a proposed budget by a local board 8
of education. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To enhance the oversight and transparency of local boards of education.
