AN ACT CONCERNING FARM -TO-SCHOOL PROGRAMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 170 of the general statutes be amended to permit local 1
and regional boards of education to develop farm-to-school programs 2
that are designed to build relationships with local farmers and 3
producers for the purpose of procuring locally grown foods for their 4
school food programs. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To (1) develop farm-to-school programs that will sustain relationships
with local farmers and producers, (2) enrich the educational experience
of students, (3) improve the health of Connecticut children, and (4)
enhance Connecticut's agricultural economy.
