AN ACT CONCERNING AN AUDIT OF K -12 REMOTE LEARNING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Department of Education to conduct a comprehensive audit of the 2 provision of remote learning by school districts in the state, and that 3 such audit will (1) examine the efficacy of remote learning and hybrid 4 learning and the potential to leverage technology for teaching in other 5 scenarios and rethinking the delivery of instruction, (2) identify a 6 system of metrics to hold districts accountable for remote learning 7 access and equity, and (3) review and make recommendations 8 regarding ongoing public education requirements, including what 9 defines a "school day", by aligning technology and how remote 10 instruction may be optimally integrated into the program of study. 11 Statement of Purpose: To conduct an audit of remote learning to better understand and provide a thoughtful response to the challenges and opportunities presented by the design and delivery of remote and hybrid learning in public school.
