AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF MINORITY STUDENT SUSPENSIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Department of Education to conduct a study and make 2 recommendations concerning the issue of how suspensions and other 3 forms of student discipline are disproportionately punitive to minority 4 students, particularly black female students. 5 Statement of Purpose: To require the Department of Education to examine the disproportionately punitive nature of student discipline on minority students.
