AN ACT AUTHORIZING BONDS OF THE STATE FOR RENOVATIONS 
TO THE BARBELL CLUB BUILDING IN NEW HAVEN. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the 1 
issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the 2 
general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate 3 
four million dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the 4 
Department of Economic and Community Development for the purpose 5 
of providing a grant-in-aid to the city of New Haven to renovate the 6 
former Barbell Club building to serve as a community and youth center. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To authorize bonds of the state for renovations to the former Barbell 
Club building in New Haven to serve as a community and youth center.
