AN ACT REQUIRING PRESENTATION OF PHOTO IDENTIFICATION 
TO VOTE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 9-261 of the general statutes be amended to provide that, 1 
prior to receiving and being able to cast a ballot at the polling place, each 2 
elector shall present to the official checker or checkers a current and 3 
valid photo identification, which identification clearly displays such 4 
elector's name and residential address. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require electors to present photo identification in order to vote at 
their respective polling places.
