AN ACT EXEMPTING CER TAIN CONTACT INFORMA TION FROM
DISCLOSURE UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATI ON ACT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 1-210 of the general statutes is 1
amended by adding subdivision (29) as follows (Effective October 1, 2
2021): 3
(NEW) (29) Any portion of a list of contact information that contains 4
the residential or mailing address, electronic mail address or telephone 5
number of any individual where such list is (A) created or modified by 6
a member of the General Assembly or such member's staff for purposes 7
related to the member's public office, and (B) in the custody or control 8
of such member or such member's staff, but excluding any sending or 9
receiving electronic mail addresses that are contained in an electronic 10
mail message that are visible to both the senders and recipients of such 11
an electronic mail message. 12
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To exempt certain contact information in the custody of a member of the
General Assembly from disclosure under the Freedom of Information
Act.
