LOPES, 6th Dist. AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY RANKED - CHOICE VOTING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That a task force be established to study the implementation at 1 elections of a method of casting and tabulating votes in which (1) voters 2 rank candidates in order of preference, (2) tabulation proceeds in 3 sequential rounds in which last-place candidates are defeated and until 4 one candidate receives over fifty per cent of the votes cast, and (3) the 5 candidate receiving over fifty per cent of the votes cast is deemed to 6 have been elected to such office. 7 Statement of Purpose: To establish a task force to study ranked-choice voting.
