AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE ON THE REDUCTION OF
STUDENT LOAN DEBT.

Explanation
The bill establishes a sixteen-member task force to study the amount
of student loan debt incurred by students and graduates in the state
and options available for reducing such debt.
Not later than January 1, 2022, the task force shall submit a report
on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee
of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to
higher education. The task force shall terminate on the date that it
submits such report or January 1, 2022, whichever is later.
This bill has no fiscal impact as PA 17-236 prohibits transportation
allowances for task force members.
