AN ACT CONCERNING FEE WAIVERS IN A PROBATE COURT
MATTER INVOLVING A DECEDENT'S ESTATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That sections 45a-107 and 45a-111 of the general statutes be amended 1
to provide that: (1) An indigent individual may petition the Probate 2
Court to request a fee waiver of any fees associated with probating a 3
decedent's estate, and (2) such individual may request a hearing on any 4
rejection of a petition for a fee waiver by filing a request for a hearing 5
not later than ten days after the date of receiving such rejection from the 6
Probate Court. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To make the Probate Court system more accessible to indigent
individuals.
