LCO No. 5218 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 6050 January Session, 2021 LCO No. 5218 Referred to Committee on PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY Introduced by: (PS) AN ACT REQUIRING A STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF INCLUDING FIRE DISTRICTS IN THE PILOT PROGRAM. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Secretary of the Office of Policy 1 and Management shall study the costs and public safety benefits of 2 providing a state grant in lieu of taxes to fire districts. Not later than 3 January 1, 2022, the secretary shall submit the results of such study, in 4 accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, 5 to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 6 cognizance of matters relating to public safety and security. 7 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To study the effects of providing state grants in lieu of taxes to fire districts.
