AN ACT PERMITTING A REDUCTION OF THE MINIMUM BUDGET
REQUIREMENT FOR BOARDS OF EDUCATION THAT SHARE
SERVICES OR ESTABLISH REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-262j of the general statutes be amended to permit a 1
local board of education or newly established regional board of 2
education to reduce its budgeted appropriation for education in an 3
amount equal to the savings that such board has achieved as a result of 4
sharing services with another board of education or establishing a 5
regional school district, if such savings is greater than five per cent of 6
such board's total budgeted appropriation for education. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To promote efficiency in shared school services.
