AN ACT REVISING CERTAIN ABSENTEE VOTING STATUTES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That sections 9-135 and 9-137 of the general statutes be amended to 1 
(1) no longer require that an elector be absent from his or her town of 2 
voting residence during all the hours of voting at a primary, election or 3 
referendum, and (2) remove language in said provisions that tether 4 
sickness and physical disability to a particular individual. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To revise certain absentee voting statutes to more closely align their 
language with state constitutional provisions.
