AN ACT CONCERNING CERTAIN ELECTIONEERING
COMMUNICATIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide that (1) a 1
person shall not display a photograph, video, illustration or other 2
clearly identifiable image of a candidate in any electioneering 3
communication with an intent to deceive the viewer of such image and 4
influence the outcome of an election or primary, and (2) a violation of 5
such prohibition is subject to criminal penalty. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit certain electioneering communications intending to deceive
voters and influence electoral outcomes.
