AN ACT CONCERNING THE UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE OF A
FIREARM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 53-203 of the general statutes be amended to elevate the 1
penalty to a class B felony with a five-year mandatory minimum 2
sentence for a person found guilty of wilful discharge of a firearm in a 3
grossly negligent manner. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To curb the number of shootings in inner cities.
