AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGIONALIZATION OF CERTAIN PUBLIC SAFETY EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATIONS CENTERS AND A STUDY OF CONSOLIDATION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection, 1 in consultation with municipal chief elected officials and municipal 2 public safety leaders, shall develop and report to the General Assembly 3 by July 1, 2022, a public safety answering points consolidation plan, 4 specifying that on or after July 1, 2028, public safety answering points 5 must serve populations of at least forty thousand persons in order to be 6 eligible for enhanced 9-1-1 funding, provided resources from the 7 Enhanced 9-1-1 Telecommunications Fund may be used to develop such 8 plan. 9 Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection, in consultation with municipal chief elected officials and municipal public safety leaders, to develop a public safety answering points consolidation plan.
