AN ACT REQUIRING CERTAIN STATE BUILDINGS TO BE ACCESSIBLE TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 29-269 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 State Building Code be amended to require any building leased to the 2 state by a private entity for use as a state facility and any state-owned 3 building that is being renovated, to add accessible equipment for 4 persons with disabilities to be compliant with the United States Access 5 Board Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines, 6 including wheelchair ramps, power-assist doors and accessible 7 restrooms and elevators. 8 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that state buildings being renovated or buildings being leased to the state are accessible to persons with disabilities.
