AN ACT CONCERNING THE UTILIZATION OF THE SAFE HARBOR
RATES FOR SMALL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICE FIRMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to permit small engineering 1
design service firms to utilize the Safe Harbor indirect cost rate 2
established by the Federal Highway Administration, instead of an audit, 3
when such firms are in consideration for projects being undertaken by 4
the Department of Transportation or other agencies. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To give small engineering design service firms the opportunity to be
considered for projects undertaken by the Department of
Transportation and allow the department to save money on smaller
projects.
