AN ACT ESTABLISHING A LAW ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT
OFFICE PROGRAM ACCOUNT.
SUMMARY
This bill creates the “law enforcement support office program
account” as a dedicated account for the fees local law enforcement
agencies pay to the Military Department for the “1033 program” (i.e.,
the federal program that allows local law enforcement agencies to
receive surplus federal military equipment (10 U.S.C. § 2576a)). Under
the bill, the account is a separate, nonlapsing General Fund account
and must contain any funds required by law to be deposited in it,
including “1033 program” fees. The adjutant general must use the
account funds to administer the program.
