Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) There is established a working group 1 to study the laws of criminal procedure of this state. Such study shall 2 include, at a minimum, a review of title 54 of the general statutes for the 3 purpose of recommending legislative changes. The working group shall 4 consist of the following members who have expertise in laws of criminal 5 procedure: (1) One appointed by the speaker of the House of 6 Representatives; (2) one appointed by the president pro tempore of the 7 Senate; (3) one appointed by the majority leader of the House of 8 Representatives; (4) one appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 9 (5) one appointed by the minority leader of the House of 10 Representatives; and (6) one appointed by the minority leader of the 11 Senate. Not later than January 1, 2022, the working group shall submit 12 a report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 13 committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 14 relating to the judiciary, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-15 Raised Bill No. 6668 LCO 5981 {\\PRDFS1\HCOUSERS\BARRYJN\WS\2021HB-06668- R01-HB.docx } 2 of 2 4a of the general statutes. The working group shall terminate on the date 16 that it submits such report or January 1, 2022, whichever is later. 17 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section JUD Joint Favorable
