AN ACT ENCOURAGING LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO REGIONALIZE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-285a of the general statutes be amended to reduce the 1 percentage a town may receive for a school building project grant by 2 twenty points if such town (1) has fewer than twenty-five thousand 3 residents, (2) is not a member of a regional school district, and (3) 4 contains a high school that is under the jurisdiction of the local board of 5 education for the town. 6 Statement of Purpose: To encourage school districts to regionalize by reducing the reimbursement percentage for a school building project grant for certain towns.
