AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 9-164 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1 
in each municipality, the biennial municipal election shall be held on the 2 
Tuesday after the first Monday of November of the odd-numbered 3 
years, unless a two-thirds vote of the legislative body of such 4 
municipality designates the first Monday of May of the odd-numbered 5 
years as the day on which such biennial municipal election is held. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require each municipality to hold its biennial municipal election in 
November, unless a two-thirds vote of such municipality's legislative 
body decides that such election shall be held in May.
