AN ACT STRENGTHENING THE RIGHTS OF RESIDENTS OF LONG - TERM CARE FACILITIES AND GIVING THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES A GREATER VOICE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) strengthen the rights of 1 residents of long-term care facilities by allowing petitions to redress 2 violation of their rights; and (2) provide a greater voice for resident and 3 family councils by requiring (A) input from resident councils not later 4 than seven days after the introduction of state-wide policies concerning 5 long-term care facilities, and (B) that representatives of family councils 6 be members of any state-wide task forces making recommendations 7 concerning policies affecting living conditions for residents at long-term 8 care facilities. 9 Statement of Purpose: To implement the recommendations of the Nursing Home and Assisted Living Oversight Working Group.
