AN ACT CONCERNING A GRANDPARENT'S ABILITY TO SEEK
VISITATION WITH A GRANDCHILD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 46b-59 of the general statutes be 1
amended to eliminate the requirement that a grandparent have a parent-2
like relationship with a grandchild as a prerequisite to filing a verified 3
petition seeking visitation with a grandchild. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To promote healthy and meaningful relationships between
grandparents and grandchildren.
