AN ACT CONCERNING STAFFING NEEDS IN MENTAL HEALTH
CARE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to permit licensed clinical social 1
workers to perform certain roles performed by psychiatrists and 2
psychologists and to establish a review process for mental health care 3
roles located in schools, police departments and correction facilities to 4
determine whether such roles should require board certification. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the number of trained mental health care staff to address
mental health needs.
