AN ACT CONCERNING REPAYMENT OF COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH
INCARCERATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 18 of the general statutes be amended to remove the 1
requirement that a formerly incarcerated person reimburse the state for 2
costs associated with such person's incarceration if such person wins the 3
lottery or is the recipient of some similar benefit or proceeds from a legal 4
settlement. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To remove the requirement that a formerly incarcerated person
reimburse the state for costs associated with such person's incarceration
if such person wins the lottery or is the recipient of some similar benefit
or proceeds from a legal settlement.
