Explanation
The bill allows the Department of Energy and Environmental
Protection (DEEP) to review the "chemicals of high concern" list and
requires DEEP to remove any packaging chemical of high concern that
no longer meets the criteria under the bill. It allows DEEP to add to the
list additional packaging chemicals of high concern that meet the
criteria under the bill.
This has no fiscal impact since the agency currently has the expertise
for this purpose, in conjunction with the Toxics in Packaging
Clearninghouse.
